Celebrate Recovery - Celebrate Recovery is a program designed to help those struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process. The 12-step AA program has been modified to follow the Beatitudes. Celebrate Recovery at Christ Church is dedicated to helping those with chemical addictions.
Healing for Damaged Emotions - This small group focuses on helping individuals heal from damaged emotions stemming from physical, mental, emotional, relational and/or sexual abuse they experienced at some point in their lives.
Persons who experience these types of abuse typically develop distorted views of self, others, and God. They often believe they deserved the treatment they received and as adults, most areas of their lives are negatively impacted.
Research demonstrates that victims of abuse heal more quickly when participating in a small group designed around abuse recovery. Learning that others share similar pasts, struggles, and fears provides validity to the participant’s pain. A sense of safety and “normalness” is fostered when encouragement and support by others making the same journey is provided.
We use David Seaman’s Healing for Damaged Emotions as a study guide. A small registration fee is charged to cover the expense of this book. Call 817-296-3841 for more information. All calls are confidential.
“Throughout this study, one thing I have learned is that in order to have a successful future, I must first go backwards before I can move forwards. That God is the healer of all things and time is but a small part of the process.” - A Participant
